ICN Committees

Running a congress the size of ICN takes more than one committee. Typically there’s a president and chairman who provide overall leadership, an international scientific committee responsible for shaping the academic program, and an organizing committee that handles logistics, venue coordination, and the practical side of running a multi-day event.

Beneath those, a local scientific committee usually forms in the host city or region, made up of researchers and academics based locally who help coordinate with regional institutions, universities, and host-country logistics that an international committee wouldn’t have on-the-ground knowledge of.

Committee members are typically senior researchers, professors, and recognized experts in nutrition science and related fields, drawn from universities and research institutions around the world. Serving on one of these committees is usually unpaid, done as a contribution to the field rather than as a paid role.

The specific composition of each committee changes with every edition of ICN, reflecting the host country and the scientific priorities of that particular congress.
