Guest Societies

Congresses the scale of ICN typically partner with a number of guest societies — established national and international professional associations in nutrition, dietetics, pediatrics, and related medical fields.

These partnerships work a few ways. Guest societies often help promote the congress to their own membership, may co-organize specific sessions or symposia aligned with their specialty, and sometimes offer reduced registration rates to their members as part of the arrangement.

The range of guest societies for a nutrition congress usually spans several related disciplines — general nutrition and dietetics associations, pediatric and gastroenterology societies, clinical nutrition and metabolic disease groups, and regional or national bodies specific to the host country. That breadth reflects how much nutrition science overlaps with other medical specialties.

For any given edition of ICN, the specific guest societies involved vary based on the host country and the scientific themes being emphasized that year.
