The Annual Conference of the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (ISBNPA) will be organized in Ghent the 22th -25th of May 2013. The 2013 ISBNPA Annual Conference is a unique opportunity to learn about behavioral nutrition and physical activity, interact with starting and experienced researchers, and gain new insight into innovations in research, policy and practice…
The ISBNPA meeting provides a forum to discuss and debate the influences of nutrition and physical activity, and strategies to promote healthy eating and physical activity in a population health context. ISBNPA has members from all over the world and the Annual Conference provides an important opportunity for interaction, networking and sharing of the latest cutting-edge research in the field.
We are proud to announce 6 promising keynotes. Prof Tim Lang will present policy challenges for ecological public health. Prof John Reilly will discuss some methodological barriers to understanding links between physical activity, sedentary behavior, and obesity. Prof Simon Marshall and Prof Ruth Loos will further elaborate on this topic via their research on respectively (1) the use of wireless technology to improve assessment and intervention of physical activity and diet and (2) the interaction between genes, physical activity and obesity. Both Prof Maarten Vansteenkiste and Prof Anita Janssen will illuminate this topic from a psychological point of view. The former will focus on the nurturing role of basis psychological need satisfaction, the latter will address how psychological processes might interfere with weight loss.
Besides these interesting presentations, several enriching orals, posters and (debate) symposia are awaiting your attendance. Free paper submission for this Conference closes December 6th 2012. Early bird registration opens November 19th 2012.
